DIRECTOR, ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE

The Company
Very profitable and successful pharmaceutical company that develops and markets generic and branded pharmaceuticals. The company is publicly traded and has posted a very long period of top and bottom line growth. They invest heavily in research and development and currently have in excess of twenty drugs in the "pipeline".

The Role: Director, Accounts Receivable
Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the primary objective of this newly created position will be to oversee the day to day operations of the billing, collections, promotional accounting and deduction management functions. Leading a team of eight professionals, the incoming Director will continuously review and make recommendations to enhance policies and procedures and to improve the framework of internal controls. Other responsibilities will include:

• Project cash flow from top twenty accounts to management on a weekly basis.
• Oversee all cash postings and ensure cash is processed accurately and timely.
• Perform month-end and year-end close along with daily reconciliation of A/R to the general ledger.
• Establish standard operating procedures for research and collection of deductions resulting from chargebacks and third party contracts.
• Ensure promotional dollars resulting from contractual obligations are issued on a timely basis.
• Review credit applications and supporting data to recommend and approve credit limits. Continuously review accounts for credit worthiness.
• Manage trade A/R insurance policy which includes obtaining insurance and past due reporting on delinquent accounts.
• Report audit findings and make recommendations for correcting unsatisfactory conditions, improving operations, and reducing costs through both oral and written presentations to Senior Management.

Candidate Profile and Qualifications
The chosen candidate will have a minimum of eight to twelve years of experience in the A/R and credit field. Pharmaceutical and or/medical device industry experience is preferred. Strong supervisory and process improvement skills are required.
